What’s really brilliant about Yesplan is its cloud-based functionality and the fact that I can access it anywhere in real-time, enabling me to interact with my colleagues who are actually working at the venue.
I’m often in other parts of the UK talking to promoters and producers. Let me give you a real-life example: Last week, I was in the south of England, at the zoo with my children. I got a call from a producer – it was a call I really didn’t want to miss. I was being offered a really great show and I knew we needed to check we could book it in. I was able to take the call, login to Yesplan, check that we had a week available to accommodate the show at Eden Court and immediately pencil it in.
That was fantastic and beautifully illustrates how we’ve been able to improve the way we work. That process used to be an email to and fro with a team member to check possible dates and then get back to the producer, by which time we might have missed the opportunity. We’re now so much more responsive.
Another thing that stands out with Yesplan is just how easy it is to see all the spaces together on the screen and get a real sense of how busy the venue is going to be on any given day. Colour coding denoting what type of event it is and another indicating its booking status provides such a simple way of viewing everything that we’re doing and where we’re up to.

The brilliant thing, after that, is the way I can just click into an event and get ALL of the information I need, right down to the financial projections that I have done. I used to have to go hunting for this sort of thing – now it’s just a link that I click on and it opens up right from inside the event details.
Eden Court has both an arts program and a conferencing and events program and we collect very different information depending on which one of those it is. What I love about Yesplan is that it is all in one system and it is able to accommodate these fundamentally different ways we use the building all in one place.
I have used other venue management systems and Yesplan has a much cleaner user journey. It’s made my job easier in ways that I would never have imagined.
