Great Knowledge Sharing Event at Sheffield Theatres

As part of our regular events programme, we sponsored an afternoon at the Crucible Theatre, bringing together experts to talk about efficiency and resilience in Arts Centres and Theatres.

Roger Tomlinson (with a badge that stated “Almost Retired”) set the scene by providing an overview of just where we are at with regards to funding challenges, age and ethnicity shifts and a whole host of other factors.

Patrick Morsman, our UK Sales Manager, took a look back over the last 25 years and introduced some examples of ways that companies have been able to improve their income with better use of systems and more joined up thinking.

Our guests were then taken on a wonderful whistle-stop tour of the Crucible Theatre and got to see some great behind-the-scenes activity.

Insights and solving real problems

Liv Nilssen from Spektrix, provided some positive examples of organisations “getting it right” based on their wonderful Insights Report 2019.

Wouter Vermeylen, our CEO, gave his thoughts on the use of digital technology in the arts in Europe, based around the Arts Center of the Future project he led at the Arts Centre Vooruit.

James Coleman, from Supercool, rounded off with working examples of digital tools and websites to solve real problems. It was a great afternoon of discussion, with a very engaged audience who were keen to learn more.

“Bringing together experts to talk about efficiency and resilience in Arts Centres and Theatres made for a great afternoon of discussion.”

We will be rolling out similar events around the UK in September and October. Subscribe below, if you would like to hear about these and our other events.
